Steve and I are so looking forward to seeing all of you in a couple of weeks.

We are arriving on July 10th. We will be staying until Wednesday, July 16th. We will have five of the kids with us as Theresa is making a pilgrimage to Australia for World Youth Day.

We will be praying for safe travel for everyone. :)

HI! Hey, Sister Sue; Look! I finally made it!(with a little help from son#4(Benjamin). Hi to everybody! Updates: Dorian's facial surgery(to correct excessive wrinkling due to Lyme's disease) went very well. The surgery was 6/17, the big bandages that made her look like an Eskimo(or a mummy) came off today revealing much discoloration, but a more familiar face that were all pleased with. Full recovery in 2-3 months, so patience is the key for the time being. She will not be coming with me to the reunion.
Some of you may have heard of some rather disturbing health news about me last winter. Here's the latest. For the last 2-3 years I've been aware of an intermittant but minor tremor in my right foot. To my great shock, a neurologist diagnosed Parkinson Disease. That was in January, this year. He convinced me that several other seemingly unrelated symptoms pointed in that same direction. Needless to say I was quite devestated. With a little pushing he finally referred me to a specialist, however, who, to my pleasant surprise, said he doubted it was Parkinson's(only a 10-20% chance). He said to wait another 9 months, till Dec, to see if the symptoms developed further as they typically do. So far, no new symptoms, so I'm very hopeful. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Hopefully I'll have a very thankful Christmas this year.
In other family news, Dorian continues to deal with several other dibilitating Lyme's symptoms(besides the wrinkling) such as asthma, fatigue, various pains, but is getting great help from herbalist doctor and remains positive and upbeat, deciding to go one more year before retiring(she's presently the administrator for a high school completion program). I've completed my second year of retirement after 41 yrs in the classroom. I certainly enjoy the lack of all the pressures of the job, but have greatly missed the association with the kids. Besides doing some housepainting with a buddy, I've been trying to catch up on many years of neglect around the house, and am involved with several groups, including Greenpeace and other environmental and civic organizations. More about the kids, grandkids later. Hope to see your in Calif. soon - I'll be flying out with brother John on the 9th. Love to all. Frank.

Hey Frank, good to hear how things are going! We all pray that your diagnosis stays positive, that must've been quite a relief! Dorian is one dedicated educator, staying on despite what she is dealing with. Glad to hear the surgery went well and that she is getting some relief too.

I have two more days to work and then I will join you in retirement after only 35 years (what a slacker, I know). But I am following in brother Bob's footsteps and will rehire into my same job, but only for 60% of the days, so it will be semi-retirement at least (or RIP, retired in place).

Looking forward to catching up more soon, see you in California!
